Nelson Vineyards & Breweries

Touring the Vineyards

The Nelson Wine trail map can direct you to all our Nelson wineries. A new wine trail is produced each year with vineyard opening times, varietals and important things you need to know.

There are around 25 vineyards you can visit in Nelson. We may not have as many vineyards as Marlborough, but we are happy to report that Nelson wines win more awards!
Each winery we have listed has a cellar door tasting room, so you can often meet the winemaker in person. Most vineyards are happy to ship wines internationally.

Recommended Vineyard Tours

We recommend the following tour guides who can guide you around the vineyards of either Nelson or Marlborough:

Some of our favourites to visit include:

Nelson has a growing craft beer industry and great coffee too:

The Free House

Lovely old church with best selection of craft beers in NZ, also lots of live performances in the yurt in the garden.

Sprig & Fern

Serving more craft beers from around NZ in Hardy Street.

McCashins Brewery

The successful producer of the Stoke beer range, they also host a small market with live music on the weekend.

Pomeroys Coffee

This is where we buy our coffee, it’s a cute and cozy shop with small coffee bar. Their range of teas is mindboggling too.
