Nelson Artists & Craftspeople (painting by Sally Burton)

Art of Nelson

Nelson is well known for its arts and crafts and driving around the region you will see many galleries and individual artist studios.

The Nelson Guide Book is a handy companion, it is a fantastic guide and most of the local artists are included. The book is based upon driving trails around the region and will guide you to some of the finest painters, potters and galleries. You will find a copy in your room. Most galleries are happy to ship your purchases home for you.

Some of our favourite artists to visit include:

Craig Potton GALLERY+Store

Craig is a world famous wildlife photographer and he has a gallery and store in central Nelson stocked with excellent examples of his photography and many beautifully produced books to take home. If you are a keen photographer this is a must do. Craig Potton Nelson Gallery+Store
